Items that WILL NOT be picked up are: Ashes, Batteries, Burning Barrels, Compost material, Concrete/Bricks, Hazardous Waste, Items containing freon, Liquids, Tires, Tree Stumps.
27 Memorial Day Parade Time:  10:00 AM
Place: Downtown Brooklyn
Parade will begin at 10:00 am. Line-up for participants will be at 9:30 am at Brooklyn Elementary.

7 - 11 Curbside Brush Pick-up Place: Village wide
1. DPW personnel will pick-up bagged or bundled brush or branches if placed at curbside or the street edge. Residents not on major streets are advised to notify the Village that pick-up is desired. Call 592-5873. 2. Maximum size of bundled (tied) branches will be 4 feet in length. 3. Maximum total weight of bags or bundles will be 50 pounds for any one pick-up day. Brush or branches will be picked-up in trash containers and emptied provided they do not exceed the 50-pound weight limit. 4. Large quantities of brush/branches that do not meet these restrictions WILL NOT BE COLLECTED. Private haulers are available to assist residents with such removal. 5. Grass clippings will not be collected. Contact a waste hauler for this service or collection locations. 6. All limbs must be stacked neatly with cut ends towards the street. Limbs are not to exceed 5 inches in diameter. No messy piles, logs, root clusters or vines will be chipped or hauled by the Village.

Leaves will be removed from the curbside on the street edge of properties, weather permitting. On Monda, Wednesday, and Friday (additional days if required). Leaves must be piled at the street edge or curb and must not include other debris. Piles containing debris such as stones, sticks , branches etc. WILL NOT BE COLLECTED. In areas that cannot e served by the large equipment, bagged leaves will be collected by the DPW during this period.
17 Ladies Night Out Time:  5:30 PM - 9:00 PM

31 Trick or Treating Time:  6:00 PM - 8:00 PM

Leaves must be piled at the street edge or curb and must not include other debris. Piles containing debris such as stones, sticks , branches etc. WILL NOT BE COLLECTED. In areas that cannot e served by the large equipment, bagged leaves will be collected by the DPW during this period.
22 Holiday Parade & Christmas Tree Lighting Time:  6:00 PM
Place: Downtown Brooklyn
Annual Tree Lighting and Holiday Parade. Festivites begin at 6:00 p.m. Parade line-up on Irwin St. at 6:30 p.m.


December 2013
