(part-time) - The Village of
Brooklyn is looking for a dynamic
individual to oversee the financial
obligations of a small community in
Jackson County. The Treasurer is
appointed annually by the Village
Council to maintain all financial
records of the Village including but
not limited to taking minutes of
Council meetings. The Treasurer
serves part-time (approximately
6 8 hours a week) and is
required to attend Council meetings
that occur on the second and fourth
Monday of the month. This individual
will work with the Village Manager
on financial matters and
correspondence with the Village
Council.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Council
Essential Job Functions:
An employee in this position may be
called upon to do any or all of the

function satisfactorily.

Serves as the chief
financial officer of the
Village by providing
oversight of the Village
Manager in all matters
of finance. |

Assists in the
development and
oversight of budgets for
all funds and ensures
that an annual budget
hearing is held and
proper notice given. |

3. |
Reviews tax assessment
rolls and oversees the
collection of all taxes. |
|
4. |
Reviews and approves all
expenditures as a
co-signatory of all
checks. |
|
5. |
Reviews monthly
financial statements and
presents them to the
Council. |
|
6. |
As custodian of funds,
ensures that surplus
funds are invested
appropriately. |

7. |
Attends all meeting of
the Village Council.

Part-time
Seasonal Employee
The Village of Brooklyn,
Michigan is now accepting
applications for a PART TIME
SEASONAL EMPLOYEE. Applicants must
possess a valid Michigan drivers
license and be able to operate basic
maintenance equipment. Additionally,
applicants must be able to lift
loads of up to 100 pounds. The
chosen individual will be expected
to regularly interact with the
public and be a team player, but
also have the ability to
successfully complete individually
assigned tasks.
