Businesses in Brooklyn's main commercial corridor have an opportunity to boost the look of their buildings. The Village of Brooklyn has launched the 2026 Façade Improvement Grant Program, using $5,000 from the Corridor Improvement Authority (CIA) to help businesses in the CIA boundaries improve the public-facing exteriors of their properties.
The 2026 application period officially launched Monday, June 8 and will be open until Friday, July 31, 2026. Only businesses located within the CIA boundaries are eligible for funding. The CIA incorporates properties along the Main Street and Wamplers Lake Road commercial corridors. A corridor boundary map is available on this web page. The program grants local businesses the funds needed to do exterior improvements, contributing to the overall visual appeal and economic vitality of the Village.
Applications are available on the Village website and at the Village Hall, 121 N. Main St. The CIA Board will review applications and announce selected applicants later this summer. Selected businesses are eligible to receive up to $1,000 each to make these improvements and have until Monday, May 31, 2027, to complete the grant-funded work.
The CIA Board is continuing the Façade Improvement Grant Program this year after a successful funding cycle in 2025. Last year, the CIA helped seven businesses improve their properties, assisting business owners with replacing window advertisements, improving signage, repairing brick storefronts, and painting exteriors.
